Related Caroline Wozniacki on Sunday lost 6-3, 6-4 to 56th-ranked Katerina Siniakova in the Swedish Open final. The Dane was in pursuit of winning a first title of the year having previously reached finals in Miami, Eastbourne, Dubai and Doha where she lost in straight sets. A win in Sweden was not meant to be as Siniakova took advantage of Wozniacki’s right elbow injury to win 6-3, 6-4 for a 2nd career title.Siniakova was also battling an elbow injury of her own during the game, as both players had to take a medical time out in the second set to have their injuries examined by physios. While Wozniacki will be unmoved at No.6.
