Jury selection to continue at 9 a.m. this morning in Blansett Trial

first_imgSumner Newscow report — Jury selection is expected to continue at 9 this morning in the first-degree murder trial of Nicole Blansett of Wellington.The 33-year-old woman is accused of murder in the December 2014 death of her 10-year-old son, Caleb Blansett, at the family’s home.Sumner County attorney Kerwin Spencer and defense attorney Mike Brown spent the entire day questioning potential jurors from a pool of 100 people. That pool has been reduced to 36 people from which a 12-member jury will be selected to hear testimony.Two alternates will also be selected. Testimony could start by late morning and is expected to continue through this week in the Sumner County courtroom of Judge Scott McQuin.NewsCow will continue to provide updates on the proceedings.Follow us on Twitter.last_img
