“The Governemnt of India should send its team to the state to assess the damage and provide assistance to the fishermen community to the state,” he said. Besides, he also demanded the release of Rs 1,520 crore for deep sea fishing. The government should also provide Rs 5,000 crore for meet food requirment of the state, he said.Another AIADMK member S Rajendran said floods in Tamil Nadu have also affected the fishermen community.About 65,000 fishermen has been affected, prawn culture industry has been negatively impacted. “Along with boats, they have to be released.
